Meet Elizabeth

Elizabeth’s personal passion is making a positive impact and helping others find happiness and live their best lives.

Elizabeth, JD, MTS is a meditation teacher, facilitator, scholar, theologian, lawyer, writer, and published poet who holds three Harvard degrees, speaks five languages, and has designed over thirty different programs for happiness, energy, connection, and resilience.

She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with a degree in Romance Languages and Literatures and the Classics. In 2020 she completed a J.D. at Harvard Law School and an MTS in Buddhist Studies at Harvard Divinity School.

Elizabeth studied the neuroscience, philosophy, and pedagogy of compassion at Stanford Medical School at the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE). Since then, she has taught compassion meditation at Stanford University, Harvard University, Harvard Law School, Columbia University, Columbia Law School, Columbia Medical School, NYU Medical School, the Carlyle Group, the New York State Bar Association, Novartis, Deutsche Bank, Warby Parker, the Rubin Museum, and to all the judges of the New York Supreme Court.

Elizabeth has studied with teachers like the Dalai Lama, Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Thich Nhat Hanh. She has worked for the top global law firm NY Attorney General’s Office, the Global Justice Center, and Click Therapeutics in New York City; for Italian television at RAI International in Rome; for the United Nations in Geneva; and at the Stanford Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) in Palo Alto, CA. She has worked or studied in Argentina, France, Italy, Peru, Spain, Switzerland, and Russia. Her international experience has led her to understand that among those of different traditions, customs, and religions, people find happiness in many of the same ways. They want to be healthy, do meaningful work, and be close to loved ones—and what brings joy is practicing compassion, self-kindness, and deep awareness.

My mission is to bring endless energy, a joyful heart, and compassion to as many people as possible through meditation and ancient wisdom with a science-based, research-backed approach.

What’s a Sangha?

In Sanskrit and Pali “sangha” means a group of people that supports each other in the path to growth;

A community that supports each other in each better understanding themselves.

In Sanskrit “sangha” literally means “connection that brings joy, growth and fulfillment.”

This is what we hope to create in the Happiness Sangha. It is a way for the modern individual to get scientifically-backed spiritual teachings from ancient traditions, all in an understandable, modern context.

A Multi-layered Approach: Spiritual + Intellectual + Emotional + Psychological + Energetic

  • We take inspiration from scientific research as well as Ancient Chinese philosophy, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Native American traditions.
  • We will be like the General Counsel to all your spiritual needs. We don’t take one perspective or teach one practice.
  • In our programs you will hear both poetry and Ancient Greek myths, as well as the latest in neuroscience and psychology.

The Path to Happiness

We don’t just teach one practice or one way of thinking. We look at all the science and all the ancient traditions. Out of that comes out a path that you can follow that leads to happiness in every part of your life. You will experience advanced modern techniques for working with the subconscious and ancient contemplative wisdom.

We agree with the Dalai Lama that a spiritual practice leads you to joy. The sign that you are growing spiritually is twofold:

  • You feel happier each day.
  • Each day your relationships get better.

In our offerings we integrate: compassion practice, common humanity practice, energy practice, forgiveness practice, freedom from the inner critic, gentleness practice, gratitude practice, joy practice, resilience practice, releasing oneself and others from blame, tonglen, self-compassion practice, and self-forgiveness practice.

All of these will come together to help you thrive.

We Work on Both Happiness and Energy

Elizabeth spent time learning what the mental practices are that take our energy, studying them in both ancient wisdom traditions and the science of mind.

We teach meditation as an energy practice. Many people are tired, exhausted and burnt out lately.

The Happiness Sangha specializes in offering programs that will help you wake up with endless energy each morning!

It is possible and there is a path that will take you there.

We know this approach works. We have done this work for over a decade with over 10,000 individuals.
